Ryan Kriger is a writer, lawyer, lecturer, and woodworker in Montpelier, Vermont.  He is the author of the non-fiction book How to Make Friends as an Adult and is working on publishing his first novel.

Ryan has a variety of interests:

  • Privacy and Data Security: Ryan teaches and speaks about privacy and data security around the country. He has worked on a number of policy issues including legislation that, for the first time, introduced transparency into the data broker industry.
  • Consumer Protection and Antitrust: Previously an Assistant Attorney General for the State of Vermont, Ryan now works in the Federal Trade Commission's Division of Privacy and Identity Protection. 
  • Teaching: Ryan teaches Consumer Law & Policy, Privacy Law & Policy, and Protect Your Privacy at the University of Vermont. He has also taught Administrative Ethics, Communications Law, and Introduction to Contemporary Public Affairs.
  • Writing: Ryan has written one science fiction and two middle-grade novels which he is currently working on publishing, as well as a book on making friends as an adult.
  • Woodworking: Ryan lives in Vermont, where you either have to hike, ski, or woodwork. He prefers the latter.
  • Comedy: Ryan has performed stand-up comedy around New York and New England. a.co/d/1myuHdAHe generally avoids competitions but did make the semi-finals for Funniest Comic in New England. He also owned Vermont's first comedy club, Levity in Burlington, which lasted a full year and a half!
  • Friendship: Ryan has given talks all over Vermont on how to make friends as an adult.

Ryan has some other interests, but those are the top ones, for now.

One cannot truly know Ryan Kriger, but if one could, I’m sure he’d find such knowledge would bring far more questions than answers.

I recall Ryan Kriger once saying something so incredibly funny, that I thought that I really should write it down.  I didn’t, and now I’ve forgotten what he said.

Ryan Kriger may be the foremost comedic writer of this, or any, age.
