It's Really Hard to Name Planets

PictureI shall call it... Fahrvergnuvia Delta
For those of you who have been devotedly following my short stories, here are the planets that have shown up so far:
  • Earth
  • New Terra
  • New New Zealand
  • Calpernia Prime
  • Epheseus Beta
  • Giza Seven
  • Montania

There's no real rhyme or reason here.  I'm just pulling these names out of my... erm... black hole.  So, if anyone has some good ideas for fictional planet names, put them in the comments, and they'll probably show up in a short story soon.

Thanks!

How about naming your planets after SF authors. It might make sense for space explorers would name planets after guys that theorized about the future. In addition to systemizing your planet naming, you could also make the planets somewhat reminiscent of what those authors wrote about (for instance, a planet Asimov might be all about their robotics while planet Heinlein might be experimenting with government a la "Starship Troopers").
