There are three Ryan Krigers on the web. One is an aspiring writer. That's this one. Hi! One is a stand-up comedian who used to own a comedy club in Burlington called Levity. You can read about his exploits here and here and, sadly, here. I'll probably tell you more about him over time. The last one is an Assistant Attorney General for the State of Vermont. He's the one we call "the serious one" behind his back. He handles consumer protection and antitrust law, and likes to look at techie issues like data security, online privacy, and patent trolls. I'm going to try not to talk about him. If you want to know about him, go to LinkedIn. Lawyer Kriger keeps the lights on, so the rest of us have to show him a certain amount of deference. We can't be overly political or overly offensive, as that might tarnish the sterling reputation with which he is held by his colleagues in the hallowed halls of justice. On the other hand, the fact that he's a stand-up comic is pretty well known. While Lawyer Kriger might have some interesting things to say on legal issues, he'd probably want to run anything he says about that stuff by his bosses. So, this isn't a legal blog. Suffice to say, when Lawyer Kriger does opine on legal issues, it's always very intelligent and compelling. I did a Google search and found that the first page for "Ryan Kriger" is about 50% Lawyer Kriger, 35% Comedian Kriger, and 15% Writer Kriger. Will be interesting to see if that changes over time.
